HAMPTON BASKETBALL TEAM

Starting this FALL ('24) / WINTER (2025) our company will be fielding a middle school AND junior varsity basketball team.
Read below - our team is designed for home school athletes looking for an alternative team to play on.

The purpose of this team & organization is simple: we are creating an OPTION for families looking for GREAT coaching, skill development, on a competitive team, that incorporates faith based principles.

We will have try outs in October, with official practices starting in October, with games & practice November 2024 through February 2025

HAMPTON BASKETBALL PROCESS

We realize parents and athletes will have MANY questions regarding our team, coaches, facility, practice times, game schedule & more.

Our team will be training and practicing at Immanuel Baptist Church
69 Saunders Rd. Newports News, VA 23601 - only 6 miles from the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

Our company has already started basketball & speed training at this facility 3x a week!

In October (read below), we will start a series of 10 different "try outs" for students who do have a serious interest in joining our team.

If selected for our team, athletes have the ability to immediately join our practice training sessions, FOR FREE!

Starting November 5 - our finalized team will begin FULL practices 2x times per week, beginning an 18 game schedule.
Our hopes / goal is to play:
4 - 6 games in December (2024)
8 games in January (2025)
4 - 6 games in February (2025)

Again, the PURPOSE of this team, is to provide a GREAT coach, where our students are DEVELOPED. We do intend on fielding a competitive team! There will be a strong emphasis placed on sportsmanship and "competing with class"

Middle School Team Grades: 5 - 8
Ages: 15 & under. Must be a "middle school student". Must be 15 or younger until / through March 8, 2025

JV - Junior Varsity Grades: 8 - 11
Ages: 17 & under. Must be 17 or younger until / through March 8, 2025

TEAM TRY OUTS + REGISTRATION PROCESS

We have taken a considerable amount of time to obtain a great gymnasium, great coaches, and a thoughtful plan for our try-out & registration process for both our middle school & JV teams.
We wanted our process to provide families date options, be affordable and finally have clear communication on what to expect :)
We think we accomplished with all 3 with the plan below.

We will have OPEN try outs every Tuesday & Thursday, starting October 8th!
Dates = October 8, 10, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, 31
Every Tuesday: 6:30pm - 7:30pm (both Middle School & JV ages)
Every Thursday: 7:30pm - 8:30pm (both Middle School & JV ages)
Cost: $20 (1 time fee)

+ students only need to "try out" 1 date

To be direct, fair to your family, fair to other families. Upon your child's try out, we will provide feedback within 7 days of your child's try out - if we will extend an offer to join our program.

At that point, if an offer is extended to your child, your family will be provided the same 7 days, to either accept or pass on our team invitation (we use this same exact process with our club volleyball program)

We will accept 12 players on our team (both MS / JV)
Obviously, if we offer / accept 12 players BEFORE all of our try out dates have concluded, we will cancel try out dates.
We will NOT have students "try out" under false pretense.
See below, we have an awesome opportunity. Students who try out, are offered, and "accept" - can immediately start training with our coaches on all of the "try out" dates (FREE OF COST)

TEAM COST PER PUPIL

Below lists the cost per student to join either our Middle School or JV Team
The price is PER student, and there are unfortunately not any sibling discounts - we made this per student cost as LOW AS POSSIBLE, while, simultaneously ensuring we are providing first class coaching, safety, apparel & more.
This team has NO outside funding (federal, state, city) - for transparency

$250 - Team Deposit (due no later than November 4, 2023)
$200 - due December 1, 2024
$200 - due January 1, 2024
$200 - final payment due February 1, 2024

Please note, although we truly do hope each family who "commits" is willing & able to make all payments fully & on time - in NO WAY are we trying to profit, or not work with families for this team. If a family needs to make special arrangements, split payments - just contact us, we want to work to accommodate all of our families.

Just like our travel volleyball program (Team NVC), we will send a simple contract to each family, more protecting you as the customer.

OCTOBER PRACTICE TIME

Something we are going to do, to "steal" practice time with players who join our program is this :)

Students who try out, who accept our invitation and make initial $250 payment, CAN attend all Tuesday / Thursday "try out practices" the entire month of October, at ZERO additional charge.

See below, our "official" Hampton Heat practices will begin Tuesday November 5, 2024

Full detailed practice & game schedule for December, January & February will be provided in early October!

Each week in December, January & February will include at MINIMUM, (2) two practices, OR, (1) one practice / (1) one game, OR, (2) two games - this will also be clearly outlined in the team contract. End of the day, you will have two "basketball events" per week.
